  I can't imagine life in West Hollywood without Koontz. It is one of the essential ingredients in this neighborhood. (see also: Book Soup, Dialog Cafe, Marix, La Cienega Chevron, the Whisky, Sunset Marquis, Anawalt Lumber, Château Marmont) (RIP: Cafe Med, HOB, Poquito Mas, Tower Records) Just like the Room of Requirement at Hogwarts, Koontz (pronounced as if it ends in 's) has what you need. Every cubic inch of the store is jam-packed with gadgets & gizmos & hardware & housewares. It might be a little daunting but for the incredibly friendly, helpful staff who know exactly where everything is and will take you right to it. Of course, the real joy of an old-fashioned hardware store like this is that it not only has what you're looking for—it has everything you didn't realize you needed. So while it's easy to get in and out in 5 minutes... you'll want to get a little lost in there. And you should.
